Strategic Vision: What Local Communities Can Do

E-mail Print PDF

Whenever centralized or executive lead systems breakdown in any governing structure, power, and responsibility flows outward and “downward” to those who were operating under that system. That is a historical fact both socially and economically. What this means for all people globally affected by this “economic re-set” is simply this: local communities are at the end of the food chain, and this is where most provision and resources will end up coming from until the larger order is secured. This is gradually happening now, and will accelerate as the future “waves” are released.

This being the case, one of the most important things we can do for both preparation and long-term stability and prosperity is to focus on local community infra-structure. Here at Strategic Christian Services we have invested years in encouraging and consulting with local church leaders, business leaders, civil leaders, and interested local citizens on how to form non-partisan alliances to solve community problems and build community infra-structure. Of note for Christians and Jews is the historical reality that ancient Israel, a de-centralized governing structure by modern standards, was primarily governed at a local level through the “Elders at the Gates.”

In the context of democratical pluralism, leadership must be governed by the principles of majority rule with respect for minority rights. We believe that the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, historically interpreted, is the best set of governing documents yet politically conceived. Within these documents is a set of values built upon moral absolutes based upon the value of all human beings; the necessity of personal self-government and a functioning knowledge of the principles of a Republic-driven democracy; and stable family units taking personal responsibility for the social preparation of the children. Undergirding al of these concepts is a conviction that “freedom” must be secured by all generations, for all generations, and that freedom is best defined by sacrificial choices for the welfare of all. This is The Transforum; let’s engage.

What We Need
This is truly what America (and even the world) needs at this time: “a set of values built upon moral absolutes based upon the value of all human beings; the necessity of personal self-government and a functioning knowledge of the principles of a Republic-driven democracy; and stable family units taking personal responsibility for the social preparation of the children.”
1.Values based on moral absolutes are drastically important. This has been somewhat of a goal for the United States in the past, but it has sincerely disintegrated in the present. When a society lacks moral absolutes, things like murder can become legal (example: abortion).
2.Self government is equally important. The wisdom of self-government or the folly of power struggles results from the application of parental discipline. (Prov. 16:32) (see also: http://thetransforum.com/artic...nment.html) . This is why self government is so key in our nation.
3.Functioning knowledge of the principles of a Republic-driven democracy is also imperative because if the people of America do not know what America stands for or why this is a Christian nation, then they will try to displace God, which they have. (http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html , http://www.archives.gov/exhibi...cript.html ) At the same time, we must be aware that we are not putting all of our reliance on the government, but instead we must learn to trust God.
4.Lastly, having stable family units is key because the family is what shapes each person’s worldview. When the family is broken and hurt, then worldviews become misconstrued.

Get a Real Vision.
The truth is that the U.S. Constitution is one of the worst moral and political documents ever written. Christians such as Patrick Henry and most other founding fathers decried the U.S. Constitution as a pact with Hell. They were right. Demonstrations were held in public where Christians burned the document of the U.S. Constitution in the streets. The reason is because the U.S. Constitution is a secular document that fosters the myth of neutrality with regard to religious beliefs. Therefore, it give us a body politic where no religious oaths are required for lawmakers to adhere to Christian principles, doctrines and God's laws. Thomas Jefferson believed that the U.S. Constitution would not last for but a few years and was only designed to govern a small group of states for a very short time. The Confederate Constitution makes reference off the bat to the Supremem Being of the Bible. The Articles of Confederation are even better because they did not usurp individual states rights. Furthermore, autonomy was held at the local county level, at that time, understood to be county ward republics. A good model to use in order to understand a political system where local autonomy is strong, decentralized and local leaders are far more important than national ones - oh, and taxes are very low - is Switzerland which is a country made up of a number of Cantons or Counties. Switzerland has half the size of South Carolina, yet has more millionaires per capita than any other place in the world. It is neutral in wars yet maintains a strong civilian defense militia. It has no professional, state sponsored standing army - one of the two things you cannot have in a country if you are a lover of freedom. There is no freedom if you live in a country that has a state sponsored standing army and an income tax. Switzerland has neither. Switzerland is a true republic. The USSR was not a republic, the Peoples Republic of China under Mao was not a republic and the U.S. is not a republic. The notion, that the U.S. Constitution is a valid document by Christian Apologists is illusory at best and deceptive at worst. Is there any such thing as a Christian abortion? The idea, that 535 men in D.C. are going to allocate trillions of dollars for over 300,000,000 people is anything but a republic. Any student of U.S. History will tell you the Reublic was lost with the Louisiana Purchase or the Missouri Compromise. All vestiges were gone after the Jacobin Revolution in the U.S. known as the War of Northern Agression or The War for Southern Independence. If any historian, phhilosopher, theologian, businessman, etc. wants to justify D.C. as something that is legitimate as long as they adhere to the U.S. Constitution, they are simply too naive to understand what has happened. Therefore, they can't give sound advice on where we need to go and what needs to be done. A "Strategic Vision" of decentralization that involves the U.S. Constitution is like hold a contest to see who can whisper the loudest. The Vision is inherently contradictory on it's own terms and doomed to fail. There is no way to interperet the U.S. Constitution in order to build a decentralized Christian base society. Perhaps, the most important point should be made with self government. If we do not exercise Biblical self-governement, we are all subject to modern day Pharaohs regardless of the best laid plans for a republic or a one man rule. If the U.S. Constitution, which does not even acknowledge God, is the best you have, get a real vision.
